Michelle Gamage is a freelance environmental journalist living on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. She regularly writes for The Tyee and occasionally for Megaphone Magazine and Vice Canada. Any time of year you can find her up to her knees peering into tide pools or deep beneath the waves exploring the Pacific ocean floor.
