Vedrana Simičević is an award-winning Croatian journalist and editor, based in the port city of Rijeka. She likes to write long-form and investigative stories, particularly those involving science and environmental issues. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, BBC, Science, New Scientist, Physics Today, The BMJ, and Balkan Insight, among others. She has worked as a journalist for more than 20 years, but lately has become passionate about science communication. Though she lives by the sea, Simičević is an experienced alpinist who likes to visit mountains in different corners of the world.
